A chance meeting with legendary snowboard cinematographer Tim Manning on a chilly Truckee, CA evening lead to the opportunity to work on Life of Glide. Tim was directing a mini-documentary, alongside Teton Gravity Research, featuring longtime pro snowboarder Jeremy Jones to breakdown his passion for the soulful feeling of turning a board. The film needed an animation sequence to tell the history of board riding, from early Hawaiian surfers all the way up to Jeremy’s seemingly effortless turns in the high Sierras.
Tim and TGR gave us free reign to work some magic on the Life of Glide hero title. The sequence is hand drawn, based on iconic and historical footage.
